Yeah, but it’s pre-Tarry town itself. You start the saga off by buying the house. Honestly, I loved the whole Tarry town and it’s associated story arc. Best sidequest.

how else did you get your wood? I think I might have seen it for sale. Not sure now. But yeah, bombs or weapons

showed my kids the naked link admiring his biceps animation last night.

given the level of effort and detail that went into BOTW, and now BOTW 2 has been in development so long despite the game engine, world and assets already being there…What are they doing to it? I’m intrigued.

Is BotW 2 gonna use exactly the same map?

When they first announced it 2 years ago yes they said it would use the same Hyrule from BOTW but years after the first game. The idea being they put so much into it they could reuse in some ingenious way and still make it feel fresh. So since then there’s been speculation as to how they’ve changed it. Underground areas? Underwater areas? Or rebuilding all the towns that were destroyed etc…

Then, we all thought that would lead to a fairly quick turnaround, like Majora’s mask after Ocarina. But it’s actually been quite long. So either covid massively slowed them down, or they’re putting a lot more into it than we thought, or a bit of both

gonna feel like a bit of a cop out if it’s the same map after all this time tbh. sort of wonder if they’re gonna wind waker it and it’ll be the same map but like 50 years before and it’s covered in water or you’re in the sky or something.

if it’s not significantly different then yeah it will. I’ve explored every inch of that map. I fell like it needs some new gameplay mechanics too to freshen it up.

And @ericVII there’s fucking tonnes of it at all the stables to just grab.

@anon29812515 I understand the start of tarry town is to buy a house in Hateno or something so that’s what I meant, soz :grinning:

oh yeah you can find it at stables but you need a lot more for Tarry Town. You need get an axe or two.

30 Wood I read. Reckon you could get that hopping stables and a blood moon

I’m sure you need more than 30 in total but can’t remember exactly. They ask for it in stages

Yeah way more iirc. Spent ages bombing down the entire forest underneath it.

EDIT: 110 altogether. Would take Theo quite a while with just scrounging it at stables! Can’t believe you never accidentally hit / bombed a tree at some point.

Oh right, I guess I just meant stage 1

I read that and thought it sounded way too much.

they haven’t shown much of BOTW2 have they?

Reckon they could conceivably fuck it off and make it an entirely new Zelda in a similar engine.

Wait was it actually going to be BOTW2? I thought every Zelda game was basically new and unique?

I think the trailer said BOTW2 and it had some of the goopy poison ganon shit and the towers from BOTW in it. Be better if they scrapped that and just kept some of the systems imo

Yeah - agreed. I’ve just done hours and hours of Hyrule Warriors too which uses the same map.

oh yeah that was already set 100 years before BOTW wasn’t it?

…SET 100 YEARS BEFORE HYRULE WARRIORS…

I think the trailer said just something like ‘The sequel to Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild’ is now in development’. But the fact it used that engine, art assets, locations etc means it’s pretty easy to see why we’ve all jumped to BOTW2 basically.

Yeah I think so. I pretty much play that game on autopilot - my son insists on skipping all cutscenes so it’s basically us just smashing everyone up without ever being totally sure why. Very fun game though.
