still really interesting and inventive but I think they might’ve fucked it a bit with that ending? farouk has been established as evil so don’t see how we can root for him, david is now a rapist so who are we meant to sympathise with now? maybe david and farouk are both baddies and syd will be the main protagonist next season?

it’s certainly the most original Marvel TV show, despite my misgivings with this season I will still watch season 3 when it airs (as long as its not canned!)

Still don’t know why the feminine androids all had 'taches and looked like the 118118 guys though!

think I largely agree with this assessment, the lack of direction in the story for so much of it got really tiresome but it still has such a unique feeling to it and the cinematography etc is so gorgeous that I still find it really interesting. it’s funny, I got way more annoyed with Mr Robot S2 for doing much the same thing, but I have a lot more tolerance for this for some reason

oh yeah, forgot about them. never really understood where they & the basket head lad came from in the first place, probably should’ve rewatched s1 first tbh

they weren’t referred to at all in s1!

At the start of s2 when David returns they’ve all teamed up with the “evil” corporation from s1 for some reason I can’t remember/fathom and basket geezer was the head honcho.

oh! it’s hard to know much of the show is confusing by design and how much is poor storytelling a bit I think. I watched it in a weird way with some long gaps between episodes so I probably didn’t help myself tbf

I never got anywhere with this, enjoyed season 1 then watched the first episode of season 2 and then never returned to it. Not sure why.

S2 got very very up itself in the same ways Legion S2 did, but far worse, and the story kind of got stuck in the mud. According to @bugduv and a few others on here, S3 got a lot better so I might go back to it

Are we ever going to find out more about where David was for the year in between S1 and S2, ie. the bubble thing? Can’t remember if that was ever explained properly

Not sure if Farouk will be the good guy since he clearly used that mouse to influence everyone before David’s trial thing. Surely they will find out about that.

For some reason I thought it had but reading through the episodes on Wikipedia it doesn’t look like it was, just that David only thought he’d been gone for an hour but he was gone for a year.

So third season will be the last

Kind of glad tbh, got the feeling it was running out of steam

S3 starts on Thursday. I hope it’s not as all over the place and confusing as season 2.

Loving Season 3 so far. Much more coherent than Season 2, the music choices continue to be brilliant and it’s as visually stunning as ever.

Spoilers up to Episode 5

Often find myself thinking about how I’d explain this show to someone who just walked into the room. “So he’s the protagonist, he’s a schizophrenic with psychic powers, except now he’s kind of the bad guy and a rapist and he runs a sex cult. But the people chasing him are being controlled by an evil demon too.”

All the mad concepts they just keep throwing at you that you just then accept as it goes on, absolutely brain melting stuff.

Sorry to revive an old thread but I finally finished the third season the other day after really losing momentum with it during season two where it really felt like the show was chasing its own tail.

Season 3 was much more satisfying overall (although I did hate the whole sex cult thing) with the whole time travelling arc despite the writers unfairly only using Switch as a plot device. I was surprised that the finale ended as positively as it did considering how bleak / dark it could get at times.

What a show though! It was definitely one of the most mind bending and visually trippy shows on telly and it had such an incredible cast. Think three seasons of the show was enough especially the way things wrapped up fairly neatly. Think I’m going to try and track down the comic run that this is based on.

What did everyone else make of the final season in the end?

the comic run is a delight

Ah wicked! Another thing I loved about the show was how the shots looked like they would have been perfectly suited to ‘panel form’ or so to speak. Where you a fan of the show xylo?

yeah i was, i think i went into it kind of aware that one day this would all be retconned so it took the shine off for me as it were to begin with, but then after i’d put that out of my head i actually thought it was great. when you look back at people doing a good job of making comic stuff genuinely different, this is pretty much the standout

Yeah exactly, I mean I’ve not run the comic run so I don’t know if it’s as gleefully weird and full of marvellous technicolour like this was but you don’t see many shows / films manage to capture that comic book ‘feel’ do you?
