I found the complete opposite with a wilko set R got - so many lazy bits where it was an entire top to bottom wall section in one. Also it is constantly falling apart which is quite annoying.

Varies a lot with regular lego I think. There is a dump truck R has which is mostly made of massive single pieces, but then he has a street sweeper that seemed really creatively designed from lots of small standard parts, with just the brush bits probably unique to it (and possibly the specific windscreen, but that might be in other vehicles maybe)

Dark Grey and Black are just the worst to differentiate.

I’ve got 7 sets (I think) in the £100-200 price range. Wanted the Ghostbuster’s firestation (£200+), but could never justify it over other sets.

Keep getting exceptionally close to pressing buy on this:

Suspension! Gears! Working engine! Proper steering!

Then I realise that £160 could be much better used elsewhere. Hmph.

Beautiful!

Been wanting to make a proper transforming Lego transformer for ages. Just like the original G1 toy, you have to stick the fists on after the transformation!

Big fan of the colour scheme too.

My TV’s brother is a massive LEGO Technic fan and said that is one of his favourite sets.

Optimus needs his head turning blue. TBH, my six year old will have totally modded it by tonight (which is why I took photos, sorry full nerd territory here)…

Where’s the cheapest place to get that? Been hankering after the ISS for a while now…?

I am taking my time with it, couple of bags every few days. Really enjoyable build.

Definitely going to get the Ski Resort for R’s birthday, the more I look at it the more I see individual parts I know he’ll get a lot of use/enjoyment out of when he inevitably takes bits apart.

I’m so glad he likes lego

Can’t really help you there. It was out of stock everywhere else so I ended up paying 20 Euros over the normal price.

Cute little shuttle there.

Don’t go here, NSFbankaccounts:

I remember looking at the ISS model on the Lego website and becoming hooked on watching the video of the man in his Scandi flat putting it together.

Having assembled all 1000 odd bus seats in the Routemaster I’d be a bit wary of all those solar panels.

My brother and I had the Barracuda pirate ship back when we were kids and, possibly the space track centre aside, it was the best one we had.

He’s just spanked £160 on the new updated version which can be the ship, or an island with a wreck of the ship on it. I’m so very jealous.

Looks like they’re printed pieces to me, so not too bad at all.

I think you know you’re a sad middle-aged Lego fan when your first thought when buying an expensive new set isn’t how much it costs, but whether you can be arsed putting up a new shelf to keep it on.
