Oh wow! Never, ever saw those! The control system looks incredible!

All of the Lego collection I owned, consisted of this huge container filled to the brim with hand me downs from the stuff my uncles used to play with in the 60s and 70s. Nothing fancy just the boards and blocks but that was the point, children of any generation should be able to enjoy it for what it is. Simple and fun.

The crate is still in parents loft ready for when I have kids. I’ll probably be more excited to get building than they will be

Those individual kits have got out of hand now, especially the tie-ins, but they sell so they keep on making them. I have a load of basic lego bricks for my kids, it is much more fun being creative with those. But they still want the £150 kits where you make a stable for horses or whatever. They’d just get made once, sat out for a while, then smashed up and put in with the rest of the stuff. Then when you are trying to make a house you get all the weird shaped bricks in the way.

I used to have a leg jumper that you could attach little lego men to.

I had this set - the buggy drove up a little ramp INSIDE THE SHIP

So much joy

Was down at my parents this weekend and spent ages with my son and dad playing with my old massive box of Brio. You can buy massive second hand boxes of the stuff on ebay which is cool. We’ve got a few bits of the fake ikea stuff but might get a big box of it.

Checked and my dad also has my old massive box full of lego, and my technics one as well. Can’t wait for the kids to be a bit older and to get into it. Great stuff.

The second hand market looks great to get a mixed box of stuff:

ITT: lots of people struggling to lego of their youth
