Trinity, same dates.

Time to go tubbing.

Yeah! I have no idea what that is though.

Tubs were shit, extra wide rowing boats for novices to have a go in. Not that I was a rower.

fewer oxbridge tossers than I’d previously thought actually.

found out recently that you have to wear robes to exams and are prohibited from working alongside your studies at Oxford. mental!

Yeah and the terms are 8 weeks long, and if you’re in uni accommodation they want you to leave in the holidays so they can rent it out for conferences. It very much assumes that you have a family to live with for the rest of the time. It was a big issue for a friend of mine who went. I’m glad I didn’t go there, it would have been miserable.

My graduation was a couple of weeks after the change came in to make sub fusc gender agnostic. The guy at New College (the Procter? idk) who lead us to graduation made some awful comment about how “the lesbians had won” for that to have happened.

My internal examiner for my viva was a good, and we knew each other from St Andrews and I’d helped his group out with relocating there.

He told me that the academic regulations say that you have to enter and leave the examination room in academic dress, but didn’t say anything about in between, so I should feel free to make myself comfortable for the exam.

I assumed he meant to take off my gown and bow tie, but my enormously stressed out brain was screaming at me about how funny it would be if I stood up and started to take my trousers off.
