I started reading some of the short stories in The Elephant Vanishes. I love how they manage to make something strange out of the most totally everyday situations (the one I just read is about someone who responds to department store complaints sending a rambling reply trying to figure out why he was emotionally moved by a specific letter they received)

Like £10 a bottle so it’s hard to justify them over just buying more spirits, but since I drink most things as old fashioneds it lets me experiment a lot for a drink with so few ingredients!

I haven’t read that. I’ve got ‘Men without women’ which is another collection of short stories but I haven’t started that yet (I struggle with short stories). Have you read 1Q84?

Was thinking of rereading 1Q84! I always tend to save huge novels for Christmas time for some reason so that might be this year’s

I really like the story Yesterday in MWW. I think there’s one called Scheherazade in there too, which reminds me of all the weird dreams I’ve had about breaking into houses

I’m lucky enough to have a few specialist drinks places in the city that have them in stock. Think you could get orange ones in big supermarkets maybe but nothing any weirder than that

Plenty of online places have them too but the first ones I browsed wouldn’t ship to France :frowning: I recommend getting any you can though! Lots of fun
