For how much the shares and Doge I bought have fluctuated in value over the last couple of weeks I’ve just checked my positions this morning and the growth is remarkably small. Two percent higher than it would have been in a savings account though…

What are the best platforms to use to by Dodgecoin or any cryptocurrency, also best wallets etc? I’m thinking of buying a small amount that I can afford to lose, just for fun.

Binance seems to work okay. Been enjoying fucking around moving my £15 between DOGE and BTC. Managed to miss all the big spikes in both, but still up to cool £17.32.

Just have to silence that little voice in my head that says “if you had put £2k in you would have earned £350 by now”.

Yeah, there’s no scientific rationale but I reckon it’s when you get to the point where you can afford to lose that you’ll lose badly. Same with betting.

I’ve been putting in 50 quid into shares a month since March and I’m up about 6%-8% with the increase being pretty steady. I’m up about 30% on 75 quids worth of coins from last Thursday. If I’d put in loads I’d be watching nervously all day and end up cashing out on a loss.

This is my plan, but probably with a little less cash. £10-20 a month I reckon. As much for the heck of it as anything else.

obviously my GME is just laughably bad so … bought a bunch of cryptos just to have some less depressing numbers on my screen. Good thinking there imho

still HOLDing too because literally what else is there to lose now. When this takes off in April I’ll be laughing

Same, I’m up on Bitcoin and Ethereum now. Just need Elon to say that all future Tesla transactions will only be done in BTC and then maybe it’ll spike enough to offset my other losses.

Look, it’s a plan

Sold off my dogecoin when I doubled my money. No regrets. Have read up on crypto for years but never invested. Savings in my pocket were worth more to me than the inherent risk of crypto speculation, but have now put some money in other coins (like VET).
Think there are some good arguments and an actual worth with some of them, but even if you think they are worthless cryptotulips, reckon a lot of them will be making quite a big profit in the next few months and bitcoin is on a big bull run.

I’m guessing a lot of people will put their 1,400 cheques into Bitcoin and other currencies. Will probably just cash out a short time after then.

joke, is this you?

serious chat now - one of my atds who recently got into stonks about a year ago and is generally quite a naive sweet person behind a weird facade of trying to be a serious ‘business person’ bought about 1.2k worth of Gamestop shares at the start of all this, and is still holding on to them. he’s also been unemployed for about half a year because of the pandemic, and I’m a bit worried about him.

Profk you should sell your shares now

I hope he’s okay, it sounds like he made a major gamble here and is reluctant to let it go, but as @jordan_229 said he really should. It’s always worthwhile to remember that you should never invest more than you can afford to lose, particularly when you’re looking at volatile investments, and it’s also best to set a reasonable target price to sell at so you know you make some return. That’s hard when you’re swinging for the fences like your friend, but he should get out.

was just fucking weird that my other mates in that particular subsection of the group were cool and even advised him to do that, and now he’s down a load of money he didn’t have and they’re all like ‘wonder how x is taking it’, ‘how is x since the event’.

i’ve actually not spoken to him yet - all of this is second hand from other mates because they’ve got a separate whatsapp group for stonks chat (thank fuck),

idk, i’m not involved at all aside from being a bystander but it’s really rubbed me up the wrong way. no chance he’ll listen to me either because I’m the flag burning, WH Smith’s storefront smashing member of the group.
