Different wines for different needs.

All depends on the occasion, the time of day, the temperature, the location, the food, etc. There are no hard and fast rules.

Had a lovely bottle of 2015 Arianna Occhipinti SP68 Bianco from Sicily on Friday. Made from 60% Moscato di Alessandria and 40% Albanello.

What makes you think I would lower myself to drinking bad Italian wine?

Italian red is better value than French red, because the good French stuff is very expensive. But when French wine is good, it is really good. Something even the best Italian reds never achieve.
