I’m on an Italian red bender at present.

Primitivo is the current jam. Trying to work out which readily available one has the perfect mixture of sweetness and body. It’s an enjoyable experience (except when you have a bad one, and a bad Primitivo is really bad).

I mainly drink red wine, personal favourite being a St Emillion (which I vary rarely get to drink so I make do with all manner of odds and ends - my nan-in-law realised we like the Bouchard Aines et Fils Pinot Noir three years ago or something and so constantly chucks us bottles of that), but I love a good white (sweet side preferably, though sometimes when the weather is roasty something really minerally and cold is good) and a nice relaxing rose (Anjou, Languedoc) in the sun is always a winner.

LOVE, LOVE WINE

Can I just shock you ? I like wine. Despite what I just said earlier. At any one time, I have nine bottles of wine in my house

How the fuck is this poll such a landslide? Hate this thread already.

do you think in say, Japan, they call it ‘grape’ sake

My default wine has evolved over my
lifetime:

  • le Piat d’Or / Bulls Blood
  • Bulgarian red
  • Australian reds before they got overpriced and over fruity
  • Chilean / California reds esp merlot and cab sauvs
  • NZ whites
  • Italian reds
  • Argentinian malbec
  • Currently a mix of French and Spanish depending on budget

Is it not the French who adore le Piat d’Or?

Allegedly, though I doubt it would stand up in court

a bulgarian red absolutely sounds like the DiS choice
