Not in my experience. However, they do tend to try and pressure you into it.

Reckon they rely on liars to nullify a bunch of cases. Absorb the cost man.

same here. I thought it was a legal requirement. Obviously not.

(all insurance is bullshit tho obviously)

If we started a family obvs we’d both get some sort of policy. We’re not stupid.

It just seems strange…People die literally all of the time and yet people stay in houses etc. I don’t know of many people that have wanted to rid themselves of the house they shared with their loved one. If anything, i’d probably want to hang about there longer to have a piece of them with me?

I just don’t think it’s a massively sensible option for the future.

I dunno this is morbid im going for lunch

If no, why not?

  • All insurance is a racket
  • CBA
  • Haven’t got round to it yet but will do
  • Don’t have a mortgage/kids/etc so don’t see the point

Ah brill thanks zeal. My friend isn’t a habitual user, much more recreational.

It comes down to dependents and other debts and death in service provisions though, doesn’t it?

It’s not reckless to not have life insurance in all circumstances.

Buildings Insurance is the only legal requirement, an adviser may tell you otherwise but would be lying (life cover is of course advisable).

(Not yet but when I buy a house, I will)

No problem…

Ours did too but all we had to do was prove we were looking at policies. We had buildings and contents set up for when we moved in but we’re only getting round to insuring ourselves now because we’re materialistic westerners.

you clicked the wrong option mate

Critical illness is very different to life insurance though.

I don’t have life insurance.

The alive one would be okay financially anyway cos of death in service benefits and savings. If we had kids it would be totally different.

yeah i know

Wheres my confusion insurance?

It’s usually claimed against your estate* and is one of the ballache things an executor has to sort out if you’ve left a will.
