Aw man
Shit. His first album is rock and roll perfection. Fuck knows how many covers of Long Tall Sally there are but the original is still the best by a significant distance.
Long Tall Sally is just fucking amazing
Great tunes, but also get the impression he was a bit of a nasty prick. Queer himself, but hugely homophobic.
Long Tall Sally is great, and good on him for achieving popularity against the odds.
Lil Dick!
Genuinely stunned to discover he wasn’t already dead.
Music 5
Person 1
Words simply cannot convey the magnitude of his influence on music. Wonderful voice. Amazing songs. Great innings. What a life. Nothing more to add.
Little Richard was probably the first music that I discovered for myself (using Encarta 95!)
I remember being blown away.
This weekend I watched a live performance of his and was blown away again.
Cheers for the link👍
Found this article, which contextualises Little Richard’s influence, an interesting read:
Just listened to ‘Here’s Little Richard’ for the first time in years and yeah, can fully understand why it’s so revered. Such an influential album.
