Loma is one of the few current musical projects that slaps me firmly back into my teenage music-obsessive phase. I must have listened to Ocotillo 15 times in a row when first I encountered it; I believe the song is perfection.
Was almost scared to listen to the new song (how it starts) because either bitter disappointment, or distracting obsession.
Distracting obsession. It’s like hearing an intimate performance in the dining room, with the a door occasionally opening onto a colossal kitchen sink arrangement. I love it so much.
Quite enjoy Loma and have the last album that I must dig out again. Look forward to hearing the new album in June.
No love on here for Shearwater? Really enjoy Jonathan Meiburg’s moody tones and he has the ability to bring out ‘the big voice’ when required. Didn’t get the last album though as it sounded a bit one paced and dull - again must dig it out…
Same. Third one just didn’t land with me at all for some reason. But those first two are stunning. The Depths is bloody wonderful, particularly.
Love Loma. Really hoping we’ll get some live UK dates this year. My most anticipated album of the year at the moment, the last two were ridiculously good.
