That’s nice to hear. I’d not seen those locations so didn’t know they were doing things properly there.

Don’t ask me m9, I’ve not even read the rest of this thread…

Walk to Horniman; look at stupid walrus; go and play on the musical instruments; walk around the dead plants in the garden; stare at the Shard whilst listening to kids hitting chimes with sticks; admire an alpaca and a couple of bunnies; check that Rolf Harris is still removed from the list of patrons; go home.

The perfect free day out at the Horniman.

the aquarium is really good you doofus

There is no aquarium at the Transport Museum.

This is my favourite free day out of the year at The Horniman…

Nobody wants that. Nobody.

I could swim in the Thames every day… if I wanted

The can be in a London borough but that doesn’t make them London. If I had my way we’d define London as being the 1899-1965 London County Council boundaries.

metroboroughs

I am trying to work out where out live from this, Brighton maybe? But that’s as expensive as London so I would probably count that out

There’s people that do!

You’d lead a longer life swimming in the sea every day than you would swimming in the Thames!

Yep. I’d say it’s as expensive as the suburbs with all the benefits of being in the centre.

Well, when you’re mayor of London…

Also, central Brighton is as built up as much of London - you’re not going to be able to rustle up a decent size house with much of a garden for anything less than £££s (if at all)…

Wrong. Twice as many people die from swimming in the sea than from swimming in all of the UK’s rivers together (including the Thames).

Is that absolute numbers or %ages? As far as I know, the only people who’ve died in the sea in the last year are Londoners who have been visiting and didn’t respect the sea enough :grimacing:

Also, if you swam in the sea every day, you’d know when it was safe and when it wasn’t. Your use of stats to prove your point is poor

Serious point. Does anyone actually really swim in the Thames anywhere Central London? I can’t believe it’s a healthy thing to do.

I prefer to not end up dead in the water.
