Oddly, I don’t think Mike Mills would work as the lead singer of R.E.M. but his voice is lovely and I think the relatively sparing use of it is a genius move on the part of that band

The solo Mike songs were a rare treat for sure, and so often he’ll just come through with a little backing line or repetition and it’ll just be the sweetest cherry on top.
