used to live in Macc (10 years ago)
They have a nice indie cinema if weather is bad
The little shops are nice to wander around
Macc forest is lovely - its a bit out of town but fairly easy to walk to
Lots of pubs and places to eat - they have one of those food court things now but ive never been
There was a cool little record shop (inside the musical instrument shop ) but no idea if still there

I am from there. Not LOADS to do tbh but a tour of Joy Division/Ian Curtis sites would be the main draw imo. Silk Heritage Centre is fine if you like that sort of thing. Would chuck Five Clouds and R&Gs into the mix for good craft beer bars alongside Red Willow. Picturedrome for food. Go and see the recently rejuvenated Macclesfield FC play to huge crowds for their level if you’re there on a match day…and like football obvs.
Little bit out of town but hasn’t the cat and fiddle reopened as something new? Britains second highest pub!
That’s why I’m going - coming up to watch Halesowen Town in the FA Trophy. Looking to make a day of it - probably a few craft beer pubs, something nice to eat and a wander round town.
