nah, it doesn’t, but it’s fine cuz it’s on yours! (also if anything else goes on Eric will kill me)

Jesus, three of the four shows I was thinking about going to next weekend are sold out. When did everyone in Glasgow start going to gigs?

get on that twitter!

Here’s a SY one i made earlier I cut down to Eric’s rules, even though:

I think you’ll find it quite superior to anything else posted here

  1. Schizophrenia
  2. Kool Thing
  3. Silver Rocket
  4. Incinerate
  5. Shadow of a Doubt
  6. Unmade Bed
  7. Candle
  8. Catholic Block
  9. Paper Cup Exit
  10. Pink Steam
  11. The Sprawl
  12. Death Valley '69

59 minutes ok doll :kissing_heart:

Ah, I must have searched for the Jesus Lizard, cheers

Re-do it and include Mogwai Fear Satan!!!

you’re not helping (also no)

I don’t think anyone’s done The Flaming Lips yet? 12 songs, 59 minutes. In order to make this remotely doable, I had to add the rule of a max of 3 songs per album given the number of them and the existence of Yoshimi and The Soft Bulletin.

  • Chewin’ the Apple of Your Eye
  • Slow Nerve Action
  • What is the Light?
  • Waitin’ for a Superman
  • Feeling Yourself Disintegrate
  • Fight Test
  • In the Morning of the Magicians
  • Do You Realize?
  • My Cosmic Autumn Rebellion
  • Worm Mountain
  • The Terror
  • Butterfly, How Long It Takes to Die

Some thoughts:

  • It pains me not having anything from Clouds Taste Metallic, but while it’s a great album, its peaks aren’t quite as high as those of the others. I included two from Transmissions so as not to entirely neglect that mid 90s era.
  • “The Gash” just, just missed it for the Soft Bulletin, and I’m not even going to bother doing runners up for Yoshimi.
  • “Worm Mountain” just edged out “See the Leaves” for representing Embryonic, though the first half of the latter is probably the highlight of the album for me.
  • This playlist doesn’t reflect how much I love Clouds Taste Metallic / At War with the Mystics. I know I’m higher than most here are on the latter (including the very polarizing “It Overtakes Me”). “My Cosmic Autumn Rebellion”, which I included, is without a doubt one of their best songs though.
  • The Terror is amazing and the two I included were automatic for the list.

I’m starting to think SNW might be my second favourite Deftones album

Worm Mountain is excellent. they opened with it when i saw them a few years ago (well after all the intro music and the walking round the crowd in a big bubble music), bass was huge.

i’m also a big defender of Mystics, for the most part, was my favourite by them at one point.

playlist definitely needs either Lightning Strikes The Postman or Psychiatric Exploration for Clouds though.

Cocteau Twins
12 tracks, 48 mins

  1. Ivo
  2. Five Ten Fiftyfold
  3. Lorelei
  4. Blind Dumb Deaf
  5. Fifty-fifty Clown
  6. Carolyn’s Fingers
  7. Pearly-dewdrops’ Drops
  8. Pandora (For Cindy)
  9. Heaven or Las Vegas
  10. Blue Bell Knoll
  11. The Itchy Glowbo Blow
  12. Musette and Drums

This was the hardest yet; had to cut a lot of stupidly great songs. Also, sorry to anybody who really loves Victorialand, Four-Calendar Café or Milk & Kisses but I really couldn’t justify having anything from them in there, it was hard enough with the 5 albums (and 1 EP) that do feature

Listening to this now and thinking this would be a classic album if it wasn’t a compilation

I’m already regretting this, for some reason while I was doing this (and staring at the tracklists for each album) I forgot that “Placebo Headwound” exists. That should probably be on there in place of one of the Transmissions ones.

Second someone doing a Pulp one. One of those bands I’ve never been sold on but would like to be proven wrong

Ithica, good job - everything good about Mogwai in 3 mins…

Here’s a Superchunk playlist I quickly threw together: https://open.spotify.com/user/etinacadiaego/playlist/5K4KRTPRUdvQvkw3jRGUhL

It’s a bit No Pocky heavy, but if you liked the softer stuff from Come Pick Me Up and Here’s to Shutting Up, you should definitely check those albums out.
