Are we all in denial of Gillingham Wisconsin? Babes, be real for ONE DAMN MINUTES
Every time, without fail, when leaving the End Of The Road festival, I crack the ânearly home, lads!â joke as we see the Gillingham sign. Even though we have a good 150 miles to go. Never gets old

Fact break that I think you & @1101010 will both appreciate:
âGiftâ is the Swedish word for âmarriedâ
It is also the Swedish word for âpoisonâ
In both cases it is pronounced âjift/yiftâ
Make of this what you will

Itâs the German word for poison too. Pronounced the same as in English.
Hence Barry Burnsâ old bar in Berlin.

I grew up in Dorset and there was little consistency, people pronounced it both ways, probably more with a hard G. Iâve always thought of the Kent version of Gillingham as bit of an imposter.
