It’s a shame, but I quite enjoy my businessman persona, but yeah I like to give lots of instructions and was talked down to as myself but now I can just be like “I need this this and this” and “this isnt right, please do this this etc” and it just gets done. Mad.

I’ve never thought to pretend to be a man until I read this (very basic and rubbish article) the other day:

Going to try it.

One of my friends once had her boyfriend explain to her how her shewee worked. She got righteously angry and told him off for thinking he understood how her anatomy worked better than she did. Turns out he was right and she ended up weeing on herself the first time she used it, but she’s never told him that.

Quite right too. As the old saying goes, far better to ruin the sleeve of your new jumper than to let the door handle think it’s won.

He’s learned to check his privilege and she’s learned not to wee on herself. Everyone’s a winner.

This is a shame but I also have a hilarious image of you as Matt Berry or something with a big moustache.

Should clarify that I’m obviously not defending it at all and wouldn’t ever get close to the “explaining something to a woman that they’re an expert in” brand of mansplaining.

Not much mate, what’s upwork you?

Explaining mansplaining - going full circle?

Still good to know.
