I find that the ability to give half stars between stars allows for slightly more nuance in my approach and therefore makes me look quite clever when I decide that, for example Despicable Me 2 is worthy of half a star less than, for example, Despicable Me 3

I really like the BFI player… I guess mubi is constantly updating with new things whereas BFI is relatively static as far as Ive seen… Lots of great shit on there though

Tetsuo is great

I find that quite stressful though. Constantly under the gun. Always something I wanted to watch EXPIRING AT MIDNIGHT

1917 - Thought it was weirdly emotionless, and it didn’t feel very urgent or frantic. Not sure it being shot in one-take (well, “one-take” plus the sneaky cuts) added anything and maybe even made it less immersive? Definitely understand the unfavourable comparisons to videogames. Didn’t like the dialogue either. Boring soundtrack. Yeah I really don’t get why this was so well liked.

Do you rate things differently on letterbox than dis
