It does get better after the opening, and there is some really fun combat in there, but I wouldn’t say it’s worth the time investment. One of those where for me it was a bit of a rollercoaster - I spent the first few hours hating it, then a few hours liking it, then 20 actively enjoying it, then the final 20 actively hating it again. It’s a fantastic concept for a Mass Effect game but it feels so unfinished in so many ways and I remember barely anything about it now.

Edit: I do think the graphics and animations weren’t as bad as made out. I did play a while after it came out so maybe patches improved it a lot, but I think a lot of the game actually looked pretty good and certainly better than the original run!

friend of mine, who is a died hard ME fan like me, has recently played through it on EA Play via Gamepass and he rates it was unfairly maligned at the time for Not Being as Good, which seems to be the consensus now.

I reckon the big flaw was forcing the Frostbite engine into the game.

That’s what metacritic reviews for it nowadays look like - people confused at why it was slated at the time.

6 quid for Andromeda is honestly pretty tempting.

It suffered from the backlash to ME3 - the fans really wanted a big return to form, and it clearly isn’t. They really wasted the premise of an entirely new galaxy on a piss poor writing team. Also EA crunch making the game appear rushed very much in effect.

Can’t wait to see the naff photo of tali after having space sex all over again

Tali is GOAT though

It launched in a terrible state as well. That has totally hurt its reputation

They did
That’s what the first few patches fixed. The animation , facial reactions and lip syncing was shocking at launch. Immersion shattering stuff. Especially lady shep

Seen quite a bit of footage of this series and I think it’s just not my kind of sci-fi. Looks very shiny and sterile and lacking in character.

Plenty of character in the first 2 games especially
And the 3rd (to a lesser extent)

mainly I just think the world looks boring, all those white polished starships and people sleeping in minimalist quarters. It’s just not a flavour of sci-fi I enjoy looking at tbh.

Quite enjoy that the three stock dialogue options are basically

  1. Kind reasonable response
  2. Reasonable response
  3. Total dickhead

Looking back through my old ME folder I’d forgotten about my truly demonic Femshep. I’ll have to see if I can recreate her if I get around to doing a Renegade run.

I think its time for me to finally do my double ard bastard shep run

Players who bought Mass Effect Legendary Edition from Origin will get access to the game at 16:00 BST on May 14th, while it looks like those who bought it on Steam will have to wait until 02:00 BST on May 15th.

Is this a joke. Is a joke happening right now

:eyes: got 120hz on my xbox and I can play it!

Only 1080 120hz doe :frowning:

Lol.

I just signed up to ea plus to play this. 15 quid a month, if I’m still playing in 4 months then it’s the same as retail, if I stop playing then just cancel the plus, easy.

I will never remember to cancel the plus.
