Super Barry Hawkins

There’s no greater sight in snooker than seeing Murphy straining his massive head trying to smile whilst getting a thorough pasting. I don’t know why i hate the man so much.

Selby now, you’d think.

In 2005 or so when Paul Hunter was starting chemotherapy for his stomach cancer, it was put to a players vote as to whether or not to freeze his ranking for a year so that he didn’t tumble down the rankings because of his treatment. Only 2 pros voted against this. Don’t know who the other one was but it’s a reasonably open secret that the other one was Shaun Murphy. So you can hate him with impunity now.

Selby’s the favourite for sure but I can see Fu winning this. I really can.

SELBY - OUT

BAZZA :bangbang:

My next door neighbour is Hawkins doppleganger. Apart from the snooker playing (I assume).

This ā€œDriving with Davisā€ thing with Ding is the worst thing I’ve ever seen on telly.

Should be a corker this.

I think i prefer watching the Masters to the UK or Worlds. More digestible games, seems a bit more relaxed, idk. Big fan.

Yeah I’d agree. I’d it goes masters, UK them worlds for me in terms of enjoyment of overall tournament. Quality at the masters can’t be done at any other tournament and the big draw at UKs let’s you see a lot of people you wouldn’t usually see.

Though you can’t beat a good long close final at the World Championship.

Nicely poised 4-4 at the start of the evening session. Perry must be kicking himself a little having been 4-1 up at one point this afternoon.

Bit of shame the standards not been a bit higher. Was probably spoiled in the 2nd half of the Fu v Ronnie match

Yeah, not been great quality, sadly. Perry has been looking particularly poor this evening.

can’t see perry catching him

Looks a bit too much like Martin Petrov for my liking.

reckon steve peters has been name checked every time ronnie’s played at a major tournament for the last five years. give it a rest.

At least the quality picked up a bit after the mid session interval. Not a classic by any means.

Nah. Pretty engrossing though. Good to see Ronnie digging in hard to win all the same, even if it didn’t make for the most free-flowing final.

The Masters is always the best tournament. And the standard across the top 16 in the sport now is probably the highest it’s ever been.
