Lisowski battered 6-1 by Ding last night. Bit disappointing. Seems all I hear about Jack is how good he is but whenever I seem to watch him he’s on the end of an awful tonking. But good to see Ding enjoying himself, bodes well for the Crucible.

Must ad it I’ve not seen an awful lot of Lisowski. He’s got a nice cue action, but I’ve not been massively impressed when I have seen him. He’s still quite young though I think? Pressure of playing at the Masters may have got to him a bit.

Yeah he looks a good player. Very good indeed. One of the commentators was saying that he tends to get tonked on debut in a big event but then sorts himself out. Not won anything yet and he’s not as young as you’d think (about Kyren Wilson’s age I think).

Haha. Yeah looked a bit sketchy when The Hawk started to wobble but saw it out. Don’t see Murphy on the receiving end of too many smashings.

Watched a bit of Ronnie O’Sullivan yesterday, there was a moment when he was about to take a shot when a moth appeared, so he grabbed it and killed it and then looked a bit sad about it, and then they cut to the crowd where Ronnie Wood was laughing and applauding. Bit weird.

Nice to see Judd win that. Always thought he’s had a bit of a tendency to not capitalise on winning positions, but he played very well in this tournament. Ronnie was very poor in the first session today, but even so, all credit to Trump there.

Yeah lovely stuff. Second time Trump’s turned Ronnie over very convincingly in a final this year. If he keeps this up he could become somewhat of a dominant force. Interesting that this year both him and Mark Allen seem to be finally turning their potential and talent into winning big tournaments. Can see those 2, Wilson and perhaps Brecel being something of a Big 4 over the next 10 years which will be excellent for snooker (and it might shut those people up who think the game is O’Sullivan or bust).

Was also quite interesting the commentary line after the first session of “well if anyone can come back from this deficit, it’s this man”. Ronnie has been known for his huge comebacks since… when exactly?

Also Ronnie and Ding after Saturday’s semi. That was really lovely stuff. Gave him a kiss on the cheek and everything. Gutted Ding missed out on that maximum. When that yellow went in I went a bit loopy. Still only seen just the one 147 on the telly (Ronnie vs Selby 2007 UK Championship semi, final frame decider and everything #oof).

Is it me or is Ding becoming a bit more of a character, I’m sure he was always quite straight faced, but in the last few years has relaxed a bit?

Yeah - and certainly in the last year or so. Married with a kid and that and seems a lot more laid back now. He’s never been boring exactly, just quiet for the most part. Fucking love Ding.

I mean I was going to bring it up myself but I didn’t lay any money against it so I’d kind of irked myself (went for a 5-fold that a usually reliable snooker blogger/gambler offered up. 2/5 came in so Top Gambling there).
