The whole thing with this timelines John Lennon too and like at the end when he found about Harry Potter, was he going to rip that off too? Plus him getting away with it even though those two others remembering the Beatles existed - ahhhh!

I think he’s absolutely fine as Superman. Would even go as far as saying Man Of Steel is possibly the best of all the terrible DCEU films.

Watched both Water Lillies and A Russian Youth.

Loved the first, its blown me away a bit. Absolutely hated A Russian Youth,the more I think of it the more i dislike it

Found the use of the orchestra and the clips to them in the studio/their voices over the film very jarring and added nothing which coupled with the style of it made you very aware you were watching a film

Also thought the plot was so thin, they didnt scratch the surface of what could have been done

No clue why I thought I might enjoy this but i’m not sure my brain will ever fully recover from being exposed to something so unbelievably dumb. Fincher’s brand took a big hit in my mind today. Awful music from Reznor & sons, Ltd. as well.

I quite liked the intercutting of the orchestra- there are so many uniform war movies that any sense of innovation is welcome in my view. thought it worked quite seamlessly tbh.

also quite liked how simple the plot was, no huge character arc or messaging. the washed out look and young actor reminded me quite a bit of Come and See (obviously not on the same level but a favourable comparison)

also liked how they’d recreated the setting and mise en scene- there were quite a few elements i hadn’t seen in war movies before

Come and See came up recently , its still something I haven’t seen so will try too soon.

I just thought it was going for a niche but it didn’t justify it. It reslly reminded me of old Peter and the Wolf videos they showed at school.

Least it was short!

Gone Girl’s great, David Fincher is the best at making these dramas with a heart of stone. Even Tyler Perry is good in it.
