Noticed Those That Wish Me Dead and Spiral not showing at the Odeon, has there been some distributor bust up?

Huge respect to the distributor adding on a 45 minute Q+A to Almodovar’s The Human Voice short to take it up to a palatable 75 minute run time. Love to see that kind of hustle.

Not sure about the whole chain but my local VUE is doing some showings of Lord of the Rings, Grease, Total Recall, Gladiator and Taxi Driver. Not all films I love, but seems a pretty cool thing to be doing tbh.

noooo

Very sad news.
Watched The Heartbreak Kid (1972) a few weeks ago and he was absolutely superb in it. With almost anyone else the film could have fallen completely flat but he carried it off superbly

It’s quite funny that they’re not showing that it’s a musical in the trailer.

Also that he looks about 32.

He is 27 and yeah looks even older than that! He played a university student in Pitch Perfect which came out nine years ago

Not hiring a female director seems like a misstep to me, even if script and producer are. Obviously that’s all of a piece with WB.

Might actually be my favourite DeNiro film for being good lighthearted but not “I’ve stopped caring about the script” lighthearted that he succumbed to from Analyse This onwards.

Analyse This is still great but I agree with everything since then, comedy-wise at least
