Given that my interest in this spectacle extends as far as watching the five minute highlight reel on Saturday morning, I’d also be a little annoyed if I have to scale my expectations back to only two minutes…

It’s a total circus for sure but I’m not a huffy boxing purist and will be watching for the sheer absurdity. Hate both fighters and couldn’t really care less who wins. It’ll tide me over until the next decent PPV anyway.

Then they’re not clearly not huffy or purist enough. Personally I’ll be setting an alarm to get up at fight time - not to watch this debacle but to instead watch a rerun of Rigondeaux v Agbeko, an absolute masterclass in how to box without giving any joy or excitement to anyone anywhere.

Obviously it’s all a bit silly, but it’s weirdly compelling. No doubt FM’s got to be the big odds on favourite (way more than the bookies are giving it), but it wouldn’t be happening or have so much interest if CM didn’t have a chance. FM’s getting on a bit and if CM can move enough and be unpredictable enough to sweat him a bit, who knows what’d happen if Conor laid a big punch on him. I reckon if he stunned him he’d go to town on him him super quick. Could be interesting/barbaric. That said, I’d be betting on Mayweather all day long.
