I’ve actually got sirloin steak for tea but might have the TDs as a snack

I’ll still only ever be the Westcountry’s premier Jook tribute act.

I’m way overdue a trip up to see my grandmas. They’ve both been housebound for most of this year - and I desperately need to spend some time with them.

When I eventually do make it up to the north east, a day trip over the border could well be in order.

halfway through, not a complete waste of time or owt but by god there are some annoying people also on it. at least I don’t have to sit in a room with them I guess.

I feel like this is a Pixies demo buried somewhere.

I might at least have a cuppa with them first.

Might.

I’m sure a lot of people will go into resenting the fact they were speeding or thinking they don’t need the course. Like you say - good to not be in a room with them

shop didn’t have lard, the correct flour or swede.

fucked it off till tomorrow when I’ll go to a bigger shop.

had a dream last night where I was in a cycling race/tour thing with @plasticniki and her cycling m8s and I’d forgotten to pack my water bottles and I was holding the whole thing up because I didn’t want to start without them, and she was getting increasingly annoyed, but then I found them and we started, but I got diverted into a 10km long kids sack race by accident that was happening at the same time, and I won it because I was on a bike and the organisers and niki were really annoyed with me but I didn’t give a fuck and got my medal anyway.

Presumably niki was annoyed with you because she had twenty bidons on her she could have lent you.

I’ve done two of these courses. Amazing how many people were trying to make up excuses for why they were there instead of just admitting they were driving too fast. Was also an eye opener for me, because it’s rare that you’re sat in a room with people from all walks of life, from tradesmen to teachers to judges. Proper cross section of society I don’t think you find many other places.

:rage: I did a course this time last year and through a variety of circumstances I ended up flying to Southampton to do the course and flying back 4 hours later. Oh if only there’d been a pandemic back then :woman_shrugging:

Yeah - a friend had a similar thing, but in March when things were starting to shut down. He lives in Yorkshire somewhere, but he got snapped in London, and got offered a course there or the fine

Was raving about this to my drummer again at the weekend.

I live in Scotland where there are no courses. Got caught in Manchester so could do one in England but there were no courses in the north and the nearest was somewhere like Sheffield or hull which would’ve meant a couple of hundred pounds in petrol and hotel room. Or I could fly to Southampton in less time and it cost me £50. Felt so wrong doing it but it was the only viable option.

I’m singing “Menless Monday” to the tune of “Manic Monday”.

This is fantastic

Interestingly (?) I went for a ride before work and forgot my water and had to turn back :face_with_monocle:
