Never bettered Frengers? As much as I love Frengers, it isn’t their best record. It’s essentially a ‘best of’ of their two Danish only released LP’s. It’s amazing (as all their stuff is) but possibly their least cohesive record. ‘Glass Handed Kites’ is, I think, their best album - just stunning from start to finish - I think it’s them at the height of their powers. ‘No More Stories’ is a personal favourite, just crammed full of amazing songs. ‘+ -’ is my least favourite of their wide released records, but still has five absolute belters on it. I wasn’t expecing much from ‘Visuals’, but after living with it, I think it’s great. It’s really consistently lovely.
The gig was ace. A real event, and well deserved victory lap. They don’t quite have the fire in their belly’s they once did, and I still miss Bo on guitar, but it was still considerably better than most shows I’ve been to.
the odds are almost better I would play those 1st 2 albums live, than the band.
Kites, Frengers, No More Stories, +/- and Visuals sure, but Half the World and Triumph? I would be surprised.
Especially without Bo, which while I’d love to see the full Kites live, with BO would mean even more. But I’m skeptical they will tour the States for it.
