The R Kelly doc shed a lot of light on this cause they have experts talking on it.
It’s a control thing and also a being exposed to sex things far too young that leads them to these kind of things.

Very sad all round tbh.

I was playing darts when I found out he died.

Well you can see how Kendrick would view things that way, his experience is that of a black man who grew up in Compton, seeing how America systematically works against black people and black celebrities are brought down much more commonly than white celebrities. I don’t particularly agree with him, but I can see where that line comes from. And it’s not exactly like it’s clear cut either, as we’ve said in this thread he was found not guilty.

Of course I see that, and of course I acknowledge that it happens to a lot of black men. But on the flip side Chance the Rapper just admitted that the same logic led him to believe that R Kelly was being set up by white society and therefore disbelieving his survivors. It’s one thing to have a hunch that one side is more likely than the other, but it’s incredibly crass to state that MJ is definitely innocent and insinuate that anyone accusing him is a liar in pay of white society. Even moreso when Kendrick phrases it “he gave us Billie Jean, you say he touched those kids”. Just horrendous (and all the worse at the end of some of the most thought provoking verses on race)

That’s exactly what I’m saying. It’s not what Kendrick seems to be saying.

Oh cool I must have completely dreamed #metoo and the discussions around it that being held found not guilty does not equal being unquestioningly innocent

Edit: feel that I have to say that I have absolutely no bloody idea whether Michael Jackson is guilty or not. But then neither does anyone else apart from those accusing him and despite being one of the greatest artists of this generation Kendrick was an absolute wang to include that line

I was going through the music channels at half 5 in the morning before going out for my paper round and was wondering why MJ was playing on literally every channel

probably derailing the thread by shitposting here, sorry

I was watching a Rod Stewart tribute act.

Can’t remember finding out
maybe I always knew

@Konichiwa_Bitches apologies if this reads like I’m going in two-footed - I get that you’re not advocating the position you wrote as the truth. Just thinking about the line got me really wound up.

remember after he died and it was revealed that his kids weren’t actually his, it was reported like it was surprising news when it was plain to see all along they weren’t his, kind of think it is a similar thing, he is guilty, its obvious he has been guilty since jordy chandler and everyone knows it, but since it isn’t official the media/establishment are happy to feign

This a very funny post

i was just back from band practice. was about to move house so had no internet or digital TV so i got a text about it and had to climb on a chair and hang my arm out the window with the aerial in my hand to try and get some terrestrial TV reception for the news

A fitting tribute to the big man.

Unless he’s hanging a baby out that window that’s a shite tribute.

I was drinking cans in the park but needed to ring someone to confirm it. Rang Dint but he was drinking on the opposite bank of the river. Rang Magic Maher and he got everyone at the session he was at to shut up so I could listen to Sky News to hear the headlines. Then I got battered on Guinness for the night.

was smoking chronic round my ex’s place. main thing I remember about the night was uri geller being interviewed round the clock, mainly saying ‘I cannot comment on that’

I think it was just alliteration at work, though Magic was known for his ridiculous dandery for a while.

I was at Glastonbury walking past a man wearing an “I was at Glastonbury when Michael Jackson died” t-shirt.
