Sir Captain Michael Mouse

a few years ago I got given this t shirt by the in-laws. Never ridden a horse in my life or shown any particular interest in Disney, and have no idea what it’s in reference to. Quite like it

Yeah you should wear this more

He’s a bit unsettling isn’t he? It’s clear what animal he’s depicting, unlike Goofy, but I’ve never seen a real life mouse that looks like him. I feel the same way about Gnasher.

Speaking of which, with copyright I guess anything goes:

I don’t remember really being into Michael Mouse as a kid (loved Donald Duck though, but not as much as Daffy Duck).

Find Michael’s appeal to children beyond the 1950s a bit confusing, but some of my nephews have been very into the Michael Mouse Clubhouse as toddlers

It should have been Mickey.

IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN MICKEY

I once considered starting a blog documenting all the terrible off-model Mickeys you get on ice cream vans, but I don’t see that many ice cream vans tbh.

Hate them anyway

Love it when parents do that pretend-moan thing about their very young kid being obsessed with Elsa off Frozen or something or having to watch Frozen all the time, as though it happened accidentally and they didn’t literally put it on for them because they think they’re meant to do that

Getting your kid into Disney and acting like you were powerless to it, fair enough if they’re like 6 or something, but not 2

Talking about a specific case here that annoyed me tbh

Goofy is the all time dude of Disney characters isn’t he. The perfect Everyman. I feel like Jason Bateman would play Goofy in the HBO re-tooling of uhh Disney.

The sheer chaos in this properly made me laugh.

The real problem is that there isn’t a huge amount of bearable kids’ stuff out there so as a parent you will have to go-to with Disney/Pixar in order to have a film you can sit through without wanting to rip your face off.

The main issue is that Disney have a load of other related stuff that is bottom level awful too and once you open the box your kids just hoover it up without caring (I mean stuff like Descendants and High School Musical).
