I ended up getting the name my parents had wanted to call me but didn’t because it was a name that could be shortened as my middle name. So I got called Robert instead and …

what’s the law for middle names? Nothing really to stop you having any middle name you want is there

My brother was quite jealous of me having a middle name so spent about a year when he was seven or eight calling himself [first name] Brain [surname] because it made him sound cleverer.
