Perfect storm for NZ - its biggest passion rugby mixed with politics. I have family members who still remember the effect it had on relationships in the home, can’t think of any other situation that has more passionately polarised friends and family and frayed relationships based on differing of opinion. Crazy times.

One of the few players we have at the moment who is playing even remotely exciting football.

I’m loving Koeman’s insistence of playing thousands of number 10’s and funnelling everything through the middle. Why he won’t start Lookman and Mirallas on the wings is beyond me, doesn’t take a genius to see we’re completely lacking pace and width.

Well I agree and I’m glad/was sure DiS would not because when you cut through the patter we are a good group. But from reading and reacting to some people out there, the idea that they “shouldn’t mix” definitely exists!

Case in point, some old guy called Billy (Rangers fan probs) just said “OMG you can’t event make anti-gay comments without being condemned THESE DAYS” erm…

Rangers fans are vile pretty much across the board, though. Hard to think of a club with a higher proportion of bigoted bellends amongst its supporter base. Almost comes with the territory. Should chuck the whole club in the sea, really.

I agree but this discussion is in a Thistle fan group. That said, we get a few “secret bears” who slip through and it making an assumption

Sure, I think that’s fair and I’m not sure if many are ever officially recognised as “team protests”. That said, is say, rememberence sunday equatable?

Yeah right. It’s definitely an interesting one that comes up every November, like why is that one acceptable? I get that soldiers who fought in world wars were brave and fought for a noble cause but also for the right to NOT HAVE TO salute the flag or whatever. Is there an argument people fighting for LGBT or racial equality are just as brave?

We were actually loud last night. Cracking atmosphere in the away end…QPRA were shocking. Complete set piece team. We were good-ish but wont go up unless we find a striker from somewhere.

Watched the game in the pub. QPR were dirty as fuck. Sessegon’s acceleration and close control is incredible even if his decision making isn’t (though with his age that’s understandable)

Also people moan about referees all the time, but not stopping the game when someone’s been taken out with an elbow to the head is proper incompetence.

The gap between sessegnon, kalas and christensen, compared to everyone else on either team seemed huge tbh. No idea how kalas is in ge championship, not sure how it came across on the telly

Generally when people say that politics doesn’t belong in football or whatever, they just mean politics they don’t agree with/makes them feel uncomfortable.

Exactly. Like I do get the argument “we should be neutral” as long as people govern themselves to not be pricks, and that seems to be the broad consensus, but someone just found me comparing it to Poppy’s “abhorrent” because “being gay is a choice” apparently. Might have to stop now…

“THESE DAYS…if you say you’re English…you get locked up in prison!”

Stuck an anti-bants fiver on palace to win and a draw. 20/1 for the former, 7/1 for the latter. 0-0 is 16/1, too

So, notorious hard bastard Giorgio Chielini is a very nice person
