Absolutely. If City had a couple in the bag it’d automatically be a much bigger deal for supporters. Maybe when we win one it’ll change. Obviously the league title’s the bread and butter for any big club, but i’m not saying the European Cup couldn’t pip the FA Cup as the next best, so to speak, a worthwhile consolodation, just it’s not a part of the fabric of our club.
Another reason is you don’t enjoy the bragging rights because you’re competing largely against teams from other countries. This tie at least will involve some of that, but generally speaking who gives a shite if, say, City were to beat Barça in the semis - who am i ribbing at work or in the pub about that?
