What a hilariously embarrassing evening for Manchester City.

LOL @ Celtic

underestimated how bad Ludogorets are.

the french guy on bt sport is my new least favourite person in the world

So now Barca will bring half a side to the etihad…
But the Celtic game could be a must win for city :expressionless:

¡Viva la madre que me parió!

2 all my eye

You can’t go to the Nou Camp and make FIVE defensive howlers.

Weirdly, Barca weren’t very good at all, and City weren’t that bad bar…well, the five mistakes (heh).

Four of the five, so all bar the slip - easily avoidable.

Really enjoyed the Napoli - Besiktas game tonight

So glad we resolved the full back and defensive midfield situation this summer.

Been City’s standout player this season after Fernandinho.

Wow, Torino are up to fourth.

Disappointing to lose through two daft mistakes, but can’t complain - Celtic were second best in every area tonight. Didn’t make their keeper do a thing.

Nothing short of a 2 goal win in Germany will see us finish higher than 4th now, and that’s just not going to happen.

we’re as good as city!

completely agree. lost his head a bit tonight though innit

i was under the impression fernandinho was your best player?

He’s definitely City’s most consistant and important player…but he’s not a defensive midfielder.

I thought Ilkay was gonna be your Alonso. Assumed that was why you weren’t bothered with Xhaka in the summer.

He’s our most important player, which is the problem - nobody else in the team can operate in the role he can currently (Delph lol). And no, as a dirty bastard who can break up opposition attacks, he’s no longer particularly effective.

I could easily see Stones stepping into midfield long term in the same way Lahm did, but that intensifies the problems we have at the back. It comes back to the same thing - City have invested massively in attacking midfield whilst doing nothing about the problems at the back which have been obvious for several seasons now.

The main reason we didn’t go for Xhaka was probably the fee, tbh. It was a huge amount of money for pure potential. Really un-Wenger signing in that sense. Can’t see where the £35m fee came from, really.

The pegs don’t really fit in the City midfield for me. De Bruyne has to play at #10 (but is also good filling in at #7 mainly down to his superb first-time low crossing which led to so many goals at Wolfsburg particularly), Fernandinho’s better box-to-box, but i’m not convinced Gündogan really has the legs to play deep now…then there’s Silva.
