£25m plus #addons isn’t really much in the current climate i don’t think.

I don’t see why Pep feels the need to rotate everything so heavily, feels a bit “i’m an auteur” to me. Just play the midfield you had at the start of the season, with Fernandinho behind a roving two of Silva and de Bruyne. The back-up option should be a deep pivot of Fern and Ilkay with Silva at 10 and KdB wide. I should be City manager ffs.

Gold star to the person who knew that Leeds United are supposedly called The Peacocks a few weeks ago…

I was going to say I’m definitely backing the wolf this time, but actually that peacock looks like he knows some shit

Good of BT Sport to be showing the United game for free tonight. People can see two of Europe’s biggest sides in the space of two days (and Man City ho ho).

Van Persie winner, obviously.

on a fernandinho tip, I wonder whether pep has considered chucking him at the back alongside the imperious Stones.
he does have history of slotting midfielders in there after all - alaba/martinez/mascherano

would be a good combo I reckon

My uncle is a chauffeur for Harry, for long trips. Should leave it to him.

He’s also a chauffeur for Spurs and the FA.

Centre-half’s not really the issue for City, as much as they’ve recently been conceding too many goals. Stones and Otamendi have both been very good. Bravo’s obviously a problem, and the full-backs are good for glue. As discussed yesterday the balance of the midfield isn’t right either as yet and so doesn’t offer enough protection.

The goalkeeper’s the big one, genuinely think that might’ve been a mis-step by Pep (though Hart leaving was the right call). Begiristain not replacing Zabaleta and Kolarov, good as he can be against lesser sides, really is unforgivable. Both been dross for two years.

as per, all salient points man. not gonna question you on all things citeh obviously, but otamendi looks like an absolute liability to me. very rash and prone to going walkies at the most inopportune moments. doesn’t look like a pep player to me, at all.
'kin shame about Vinny innit. him and Stones would be the absolute dream team, but he looks like a complete busted flush. shame. wonderful player and a really nice gent to boot

First half of last season Otamendi was exactly that - very rash. He improved as the season wore on. This season he’s been very good indeed and responsible for virtually none of the goals we’ve conceded. The fans really like him. Our best players so far this season have been Fernandinho, Sterling, Stones and Otamendi, probably in that order. Frustrating to think what a fit Kompany would be worth. £50m+ surely.
