I want to defend us but it’s impossible. It’s natural to stick up for your club, and I have tried to defend many of the numerous stupid things that our players/managers/owners/fans have done over the years, but stuff like this… Jesus wept. It’s infuriating and there is nothing we can do about it. Apart from not giving them my money anymore.

I honestly would be quite amused if we went down. I think my dislike of the owners has overtaken my love of the club at this point.

Obviously we had other more glaring problems yesterday, but exactly as was predicted, Martial was shoved out to the right. Just swapping him for a less effective (on current form at least) player, not having any net gain for the team… but it’s ok cos Mourinho feels he got one over on Wenger. Bin Sanchez in the summer IMO (or just put him on the right, whatever)

Assuming Lukaku pretty much has to play given he cost £90m you’ve got three players whose preferred position otherwise is to the left of a three behind - Martial, Pogba, Sanchez. You could maybe even add Rashford to that.

I’m not sure your best XI should include Lukaku, really, or to a leser extent Rashford.

I’d agree about Lukaku, on current form at least. He’s still young though and puts away 25 goals a season so might grow into it. Rashford definitely needs a break
