Really easy to make vegan mince pies. The most common brands of mincemeat and premade shortcrust pastry are all suitable for vegans.

I like making mince pies and will be making some when I get home on Sunday. Vegan ones (see above) for some people at work and definitely not vegan ones involving my own butter-based pastry for me.

I don’t eat shopmade ones. They’re all way too sweet and the pastry is always claggy and too thick. And sometimes they ice them for fuck’s sake!

Don’t usually care for mince pies but I bloody love those puff pastry ones from Morrisons.

Always think they’re alright as I sink my teeth into one and then I hit the shit-textured crap inside. Don’t hate them as much as I used to though.

Never eaten a mince pie, nor do i ever intend to.

They sound shit.

Co-op puff pastry ones are good.

I’m undecided between puff pastry, iced and standard shortcrust this year. Need to decide how to use my last couple of weeks of purchasing power soon, but do not have any idea on the right call.

Probably the worst pie

Can’t argue with that, I muted his thread so I don’t know how it’s developed but I’ll admit I was wrong in my early defence of that clown

I had a homemade one yesterday that unfortunately had raw pastry (ate it all anyway) but to make up for it I had 3 more mini ones after pudding. Mini ones really do have a far less satisfying filling to pastry ratio.

@rich-t I saw M&S had mince pie liqueur for half price today. Is it terrible

I would drink this.

There was a guy on the radio today who is eating nothing but mince pies for the whole of December for Christmas. I mean mince pies are nice but…

Sorry, but people who like mince pies are sub-human scum.

Yeah they don’t quite cover all of the food groups, but I respect his efforts
