Misleading songkick notifications

The arena. Sounds ambitious. I mean, there’s a chance he’s blown up on tiktok and I’ve been living unaware?

Surely all songkick users have been stung at some point. Please use this niche thread to document your DISappointment.

Recently it looked like Sufjan Stevens single solitary tour date was in Bristol but it was just a new album listening party at the Rough Trade on closer inspection.

Joni Mitchell playing in Denmark next month! I daftly bought tickets and accommodation :joy:

Songkick told me that The Blood Brothers were back and playing a mid sized venue in Southampton. I was very close to digging out my white belt and bright yellow Burn Piano Island Burn shirt when I checked.

Can’t find it now annoyingly, but definitely had a notification that Television were playing a tiny arthouse theatre in Belfast later this year

Close enough

100 gecs were due to play the Academy but it was cancelled. Songkick had me thinking there was going to be a very interesting double bill

Getting this and then realising it’s a just a listening party for the Tim reissue would be the thing that finally gets me to scroll down a bit to find that ‘unsubscribe’ link

Obviously not a Suicide concert, it’s just been announced and the gig is apparently weeks away, tickets are being sold via Billetto and not via Barbican’s website which is all a bit suss.

The person who setup the ticket link on Billetto is a ‘Martin Rev’, and there’s a link that takes you to Martin Rev’s Twitter profile which was setup in October 2023 and is mostly him (or someone purporting to be him) talking about a string of gigs - London, Dundee and Istanbul. Almost definitely a scam so be warned, folks.

Again?!

It looks like a Q&A thing and obviously not a concert. Probably slightly misleading but not totally in this case.

Big fan of when it combines shows in email titles to give the impression that there’s a very unexpected double bill

Oh! Interesting. Midday on a Friday seems like an interesting choice.
