Hey MLB people. Can someone explain why teams are doing little celebration dances for base hits? Seen LAD and the Mets do them recently when watching highlights. Seems odd, but assuming it’s not new
Started a few years ago (around the same time as the props in the dugout after home runs) and spread everywhere pretty quickly. Each team comes up with their own and they change it each season. You also tend to see a formalized celebration amongst the outfielders at the end of away games when they win.
Red Sox have been extremely mediocre due to injuries and errors and bad pitching, but they’re debuting the last of their trio of super prospects tonight so I’m excited for that at least.

My beloved Mets are having a real tough time of it right now. Need to really tighten up on defence and get Alonso hitting again if we’re gonna have any chance of making it to post-season #ChavezOut #LetsGoMets

Red Sox traded their biggest star (and biggest contract in club history) and have been losing, but that seems to be less about him and more about trying to break in a bunch of rookies at once.

I forget can you switch pitchers mid inning or do you have to wait until its complete? Either way aye thats a bad day at the office lol
Think you can switch them anytime (you might need to do it in between at bats though, don’t think you can switch on a 3-2 count). There’s a three batter minimum now though

Yeah the manager comes out to the mound to send them back to the bench lol. Seems unnecessarily horrible
