Yeah, similar. Thought the first section was pretty weak up until the repetition begins/the driving the truck scene, then felt it really hit its stride, and only really improves from there. The disjointed bedroom after his first suicide attempt/that whole sequence was really smart, plus I always love a good magic trick in the theatre. Also left feeling surprisingly warm and fuzzy which I wasn’t really expecting.

Agree RE the songs, fine but nothing would inspire me to listen to any again (although I’ve always thought he’s a bit shite at writing memorable tunes). All my mates thought the alternative medicine one was a highlight, but I completely agree with you, thought it was such a piece of filler.

I was just pissed off that a town that had one bank, one bar, one diner etc, somehow managed to have multiple alternative medicine practitioners. Yet he doesn’t see an actual doctor, I think? (But there is a hospital because he later delivers a baby.)

Listening to the new Marielle V Jakobsons, playing a bit of guitar as well. Figured out a progression Jim O’Rourke uses on ‘Bad Timing’ so pretty happy with that.

Enjoyed my Higher class this morning.

Weekend was spent saying hello to and feeding Wor Lass’s friends and my in-laws. Watched spectre - thought it was poor. I think I’m also allergic to my favourite rum.

went to a fantastically wonderful wedding on saturday which was beautiful and inspiring, have had the inlaws over the weekend visiting which was exhausting, made some ART stuff on sunday which flips between feeling fantastic and depressingly futile, future wife is away with her folks for a week so i have the house to myself!!! - having some friends over tonight who have had to put their dog down today, have stalled with my push ups program on the first day of week 4 of 6 - it’s actually impossible - with take me WEEKS to get past this day, chin up program is going well tho, about to go for my lunch run which will be good, have got 3 x runs, 2 x bouldering sessions and 1 x swimming scheduled in this week, and going to finish my ART piece and do a bit of work on my cv.
feel weirdly melancholic today, listening to Ian William Craig which i’m not sure is helping really

nothing really to post in here. i spent the weekend cleaning and working. washed all of our throws and my scarves ready for the autumn. dunno how long before i wear one, mind - it’s currently 23 degrees.

Day off. Little one slept til’ 9.30, result. Went to the cafe for an :coffee: And a sandwich, just about to head off with Eva for :swimming_man:! Can’t wait, her little outfit is mega cute :grinning:.

Eats w/mum and dad after, nice end to extended Billy Joel weekend. (He was fucking BRILLIANT btw.)
