Can’t see this on the mogwai bandcamp page. Is it elsewhere or do you just have insider info and it will appear tomorrow?

All I know is what they said on BBC 6 music. I think it’s at 8am or 9am tomorrow on Bandcamp.

enjoying this a lot. sounds much better with headphones than on the 6 music stream.

this is fantastic - doesn’t wash over like some of their other soundtrack stuff. Absolutely love ‘Don’t Make Me Go Out On My Own’

It’s worth listening to The whole of Zerozerozero through headphones just to appreciate the detail. The percussion and drums are amazing. Very subtle and intricate. I know I probably harp on too much about Mogwai but they are probably my favourite band from the last 30 years. When the play together and record together it’s almost effortless. Magic truly happens.
Incidentally does anyone know of a vinyl release for this?

They said they hope to but nothing planned at the moment

Yeah definitely agree that there are lots of layers and it really works well with headphones. More so than some of their other soundtrack stuff IMO. I think they had a lot more time with this one TBH TBF

Just had the one listen so far but this is really, really great. Reminds me of The Revenant but, as others have said above, just more going on

Meant to say Les Revenants here didn’t I.

More going on doesn’t always mean better though. Some of the more minimalist Mogwai stuff is just as moving and striking. On Les Revenants the drummer just hitting the rim of the drum on Hungry face is hypnotic. The single organ note at the beginning of wizard motor is just magical.

With most bands the drums are just another instrument keeping time or holding things together. With Mogwai you really feel that the drums are a vital cog. A clank here. A symbol crash there or some delicate brush work or a scraping sound. They are the masters of Drama. Just mesmerising.

There’s so much shimmer reverb on the Zerozerozero stuff. I can’t unhear it now that I’ve noticed it and it’s really distracting.

Just found one of those Tracy music boxes I had forgot I owned. Can’t work out what it is worth; don’t suppose anyone has any ideas?
