Or maybe you’ve invented scrambled egg cake. Could be a money spinner. Does it taste nice?

I mean I don’t rate scrambled eggs at all but some people do.

It does not taste nice. I need to learn that baking is a precise science and you can’t bring a cake back from a mistake unlike a sauce or something. Basically I tried to replace vanilla extract with lemon juice, and writing it down that’s obviously a really stupid thing to do, and I sort of have an excuse but not really.

I’m a reasonable cook but I’ve very rarely dipped into baking and even making pancakes I fuck right up.

Loads more room for improvising and whatnot with cooking.

Tonight I had no onion marmalade for my gravy so just used some tomato puree and apricot jam - tasted fine.

Exactly! It’s OK, I just “rescued” it by smothering it in buttercream. And then left the cake bit behind

The baking equivalent of rescuing a sauce is probably eating the thing warm with custard/cream/ice cream. But some things do end up even beyond that level of salvaging.

My one and only bit of news is I had the first meal from my meal subscription today. When I saw the recipe only came with 80g of brown rice for two people I had concerns but huzzah it was great! Really enjoyed it xxx
