Can recommend you some albums if you would like

I’m not sure I want to break my Kozelek vow of silence but go ahead.

PC music is supposed to sound garish, it’s daring you to hate it. But it sounds that way because it’s playing with an aesthetic and an ontology (i.e. where all aspects of human experience are filtered through the lens of ‘consumption’) that PC music itself hates. That’s the fundamental irony of the genre and why it can be a disconcerting listen.

People who think PC music is Just Good Music miss the point just as much as people who think it sounds horrible.

You would probably like his collaboration with desertshore called Mark Kozelek & Desertshore

Don’t like 4th wall breaking stuff so this won’t be the music for me.

Kind of why I don’t like Nathan for you if you get me

Genuinely had never heard of PC music until this evening.

I had, but I thought it was that weird hip-hop type stuff that people make using programming.

What was that music that was like 9999bpm?

dunno tbh, but it sounds shite.

Is Billie Eilish PC music?

like microtones and melodies that went by so quickly you couldn’t really hear them. Real neckbeard shit

Where in the world?

If I’d seen it mentioned I would just literally have assumed it was a reference to people making music on PC that sounded like Ad-Lib soundcards for the, “ooh, old computer games nostalgia” types.

I actually only know it’s a thing because (I think) @guntrip referenced it the other week on the terrible album art thread due to one of the entries formerly being on the label. I have still never knowingly heard anything by them but I’m about to check the YouTubes up thread.

Maybe it’s good that I don’t understand the young people’s music, it’s not meant to speak to me.
