Ah that sounds emotionally tough. Hope he (and you!) are ok.

Thanks

The tears weren’t just his, but I made sure to save mine for after he left. Feels very strange.

Anyone here know of any good CV writing websites or templates etc?

Probably loads on the internet but I thought I’d ask here in case anyone has used them before.

You looking to switch labs or something more drastic?

Morning.

Already bored.

My niece started last week and loves it. Although, apparently if you ask her what she did there she ‘can’t remember’

I just powed through some work and now I’m gonna spend the day making a stop-frame animation for a pal’s engagement announcement. Already had a whole cafetiere! The best thing about craft projects is I can listen to loaads of albums while I do it. Feeling like Steely Dan will start me off on a go-getting note.

Have some good days cyberchums

Think I might stick some Dan on this morning, good call

Feeling a bit defensive about that vindaloo, but otherwise fine.

Morning

WFH as I have a new washing machine being delivered. Managed to drag the old one out the flat yesterday - might need to get my son over to help me get the new one into place, all the neighbours I can ask are away I think

Pretty quiet 2nd half of the weekend after the kids went back to their mums - I failed to make any plans so ended up pissing about by myself. Funny that. I might try to do something this evening - either Yoga or cinema.

as in, you’re having to clench?

Morning team.

  • went away for the night on Friday up near Dundee and then went on a hill walk on the Saturday. Was very enjoyable up to the point I realised that the route we’d taken meant I’d miss my train home and ended up missing bedtime with my kids. Got home at 10pm. Bullshit.

  • was my birthday yesterday. Had breakfast in bed. Was a good slow relaxing day. Going to have to do admin today, instead of yesterday.

My GF and I, along with our housemate, were all up early for work this morning. GF made the observation that’s probably the first time that’s ever happened in all the time she’s lived in the apartment. I feel like an adult now.

Half our staff are out today so this could be zero fun. Three more sleeps until I can finally buy my news bass.

Did the weekend the wrong way round (quiet Friday and Saturday, drunk on Sunday). Can confirm that getting to Stratford station, being told there’s a bomb scare, being let on a train anyway and sweating is not recommended.

My boss, who never comes in on Mondays, has decided today is the day to break that trend. Kill me.

Fuck off Monday.

I’d like to get out of lab work ideally but am not qualified in any other sector.

My priority is to leave my current place as soon as I can. Too many cuts and staff leaving means more hassle and stress for me.

My current “routine” day is getting in at around 7:15am and staying until 7:30pm-ish. The skill shortage means that I’m texted and called at all hours.

I’ve got a cab into the lab at 3am to fix issues. I’ve had phone calls from work colleagues when in The U.S. on holiday recently about analyser problems.

I’m just really tired now.
