First day of my week off!!!111!!!ONES!

Get in. Going round my mates for a curry in the afternoon, then off to see Kvelertak destroy the Electric Ballroom with owls and riffs and more owls. Scenes.

I had one of the best weekends ever:

  • won some awards at my cycle club’s Christmas party
  • watched England’s rugby team complete an unbeaten 2016
  • lead a bike ride (was very cold and icy and some people crashed on the ice but they were okay)
  • went to my pal’s for a Christmas dinner
  • saw Los Campesinos

I am extremely tired today because I slept terribly. Low tonight.

Went and ordered a new car on Saturday because mine has been feeling a bit off the past few weeks. It’s been a total crate for the past 3 years and the warranty is now up on it, so want rid of it as soon as possible.

Got in it this morning and had the lovely message ‘Engine fault: Repair needed’. A bit of googling suggests it’s a fairly common issue that’ll cost about 800 quid to sort. Happy Monday!

(Of course, what I will do is limp on with it for a couple of weeks until the new one is ready, and then clear the fault codes before I take it in to part-ex it)

Sat in the car outside home as we’ve got a gas leak. They were out in an hour which was really impressive.

WFH today as I’m getting Sky installed. Weekend was great fun but exhausting. I thought SFA were playing here tonight but it turns out it’s next Monday, probably going to pick up tickets today anyway.

Gas leak fixed. Pretty sure I could smell if but my house mate couldn’t. Now to decide if to take a half day and go in after lunch or take the day off.

Waiting around for emails for my arrangements after Christmas, and getting a little frustrated. Only 10 days of boredom left at my mum’s house though. I should make some use of it. Virgin trains had some special deals over the weekend, and I booked some travel to see friends up north. I’m pleased with the arrangement, because I’ve managed to make my family feel like they’ve seen me over the festive period, but crucially without having to actually spend christmas with any of them.

Over the weekend I had one of those “I’m going to go through everything I own and dejunk it” times, when you get to halfway through and realise you’re surrounded by piles of stuff and lose the motivation. I’ve nearly finished though.

Day off today and tomorrow. Spent the morning wrapping christmas presents and catching up on the walking dead, killing two painful birds with one stone.

Frost everywhere outside and I’m going to Middlesbrough tonight to watch the football, it’s going to be COLD.
