Morning all, how are you? (Monday 20th January thread)

Hello

How are you? What do you have planned for today? I actually only have two meetings today, which feels like a record for this year.

A couple of polls:

January has been

  • Better than expected so far
  • About the same as expected so far
  • Worse than expected so far

It feels like January has

  • Gone quicker than expected
  • Gone about the same as expected
  • Gone slower than expected

Morning.

I kinda took the decision early in January to do minimal work and just float by and it’s made it a bit easier.

I’m off to Coventry for this afternoon for some training tomorrow

It’s gonna be a bad work day

Head down, power through, maybe see a friend after as a reward

Also the hunt for all my vital documents continues

New commute day!

Got a seat and a coffee

Quite enjoyed January all in all. This week as well should be quite a nice one - today’s a big day, and then touch wood Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday should be quite chilled out, and then big day Friday with a Stewart Lee gig as an end of week reward.

Structure!

Craig David’s first date didn’t go as well as planned

Ey up. On the train to work. Looking forward to a nice big glass of refreshing water.

Where’s Funky?

I’m in the office today, so obviously I need to moan about the traffic on my journey. Today it was a broken down car just north of Brighton. And now I’m in, the building is covered in scaffolding and there’s someone drilling on the wall just outside where I’m sitting. If it carries on, I’m going home again and working from there

Work appraisal thing today and, like any functioning human being, I do not enjoy them. Football later and can’t be bothered because it’ll be freezing.

Work: was worried over Christmas as I’m supposed to be finishing a project and moving teams but I didn’t know when any of it would happen. Things are progressing OK though and I’ve given myself a deadline of the end of the month which people seem OK with.

Building work/nervous dog: mostly fine (she’s got used to the noise and has accepted the new people in the house as long as she gets an introduction) but it became clear over the weekend that she’s quite stressed so will have to keep an eye on that.

Marathon training: mostly enjoying it, had a run not quite go to plan yesterday then a bad night’s sleep so temporarily feeling shit but it’s a deload (lower volume/intensity) week this week so expect I’ll feel better soon.

Sad to report that the Gate has finally taken sown their Christmas tree and decorations. Only 14 weeks of Christmassy cheer for us. Goodnight sweet Prince

January has been ok, especially compared to the absolute slog last year felt like. I think maybe because I didn’t go back to work until the 6th so basically skipped almost a whole week?

Anyway, working, blah blah, going to see A Real Pain afterwards.

Yeah I think this has made a real difference. I was in work on the 2nd and 3rd but it was quiet. A fortnight in, and it’s the 20th - and a week Saturday it’s February

What is that little murmuring I hear in the distance?

Why, it almost sounds like “January AQOS questions coming later today

I think the construction workers outside have drilled through a network cable! All the more reason to head home again

Also if anyone has any ideas for a name for this iteration of AQoS, now is the time to speak up.
