Also in terms of the violence and graphic stuff the one thing I found most shocking and Im surprised hasnt been made more of is the besting of mother which reminded me of Irreversible
Yeah I found that most uncomfortable because it was more “real” (although not really because by all rights the amount of punishment she took would take much more damage/death)
Yeah i did also think her makeup looked great after giving birth ha
Ha yes I noticed that too!
Hey remember when Darren Aronofsky made Noah with Russell Crowe and Ray Winstone? Me neither.
this is a good review too actually
I went to see this on Sunday, it was ok. Didn’t find it as interesting as I thought I might.
That’s the real problem with this. As the characters are literally allegorical cyphers there is no requirement to invest with them on an emotional level. My main response to this movie was to be bored with it. There was lots going on, but I didn’t care.
The bit where they took the baby was tense but telegraphed well in advance. I agree, with exception of Ed Harris and Michelle Pfeiffer whose performances were really good I thought. But not really something to sit and think about like people seem to be saying.
I’ve only just realised that JLaw doesn’t mean Jude Law.
Guys, I watched this last night on Netflix.
It was … fine.
Lol
Realised I didn’t report back about this at the time.
I watched it. And I absolutely fucking hated it.
got danzig in my head again
Aronofsky innit
I was a bit bored for a lot of it. And it was stupid.
Genuinely a rubbish film.
All of the effects/viewer manipulation etc. made it worse. Was laughing at it by the end.
Think I really liked Mother! looking back. Noah was boring though.
I have watched this. It was good and silly.
Might watch Midsommar tonight but I think it might be too long for my wife at the moment.
Will try to let you all know how I get on.
Nope, I’ve got nothing.
