My mum enjoyed it too.

it’s about a mile

God, I miss Glasgow so much. We’re heading up in October for the first time in five years. Looks like so much has changed.

Can anyone recommend somewhere good to stay for about a week that’s kind of halfway between lovely lovely Glasgow and Edinburgh? Found a few Forest Holiday kind of places that seem ok but are £££

Ok, looks good too. I have it on good authority it won’t rain tomorrow.

Thank you for your imperially measured distance estimation.

Are you driving? Slightly further north would have more places than directly between Glasgow and Edinburgh (like up towards Callander or places like that, which is about an hour drive from both cities).

Linlithgow is nice apparently! Not that I’ve ever been but I hear good things about it.

Been meaning to check this place out, thought it might be a bit pricey tho. Ended up going to the place in Anniesland that @fitzcarraldo recommended upthread - shit, it was SO GOOD! Ended up chatting to the owner for ages (he took over from Jan this year) and buying some weird and wonderful house plants. Really recommend it. Think it’s called Hyacinth House Florists now.

The family who ran the Kaim Park Hotel in Bathgate were good guys when I worked in the area. I never stayed in the hotel but you’re roughly equidistant between the cities and very close to the M8.

And Bathgate shouldn’t be too pricey.

I think Vahalla’s Goat are hiring…

Definitely one of the beer wanker places I follow on Bookface.
