Absolutely was a pen

Just before the Lamela red card he bodyslammed an Arsenal defender hard enough to send him flying, clearly out of frustration. Not worthy of anything but a fond chuckle from all and sundry. Technically both decisions were correct but that looked far more dangerous than Lamela flapping his hand in someone’s face.

Should have been a straight red

The one into Gabriel? Absolute monster challenge and a red. Like the backing in thing he does every week nearly breaking defenders backs in the process. I’m totally biased as a gooner but its disgusting - as you say pundits never talk about it with him and refs never penalise him. England captain treatment to a shocking degree.

Commitment!

It’s the Scholes thing again. The English punditry and media class love him and there’s no question that affects ref decision-making towards him.

Great stuff. He’d have been chuffed with that. I thought it was sliced bread for some reason.

I miss that Man City. I think their own fans pine for those simpler times too.

There’s definitely some comedy value that we’ve lost. I think that the fairly bleak humour about ourselves has carried on and that a lot of what people on here see as anti-bants or miserabilism is a hangover from that.

However the fact that the clown car approach coincided with United’s period of dominance and the triumphal ism, bandwagoneering and fawning that went with it definitely makes it something that is easier to look back and smile on now than it was to go through at the time.

Tom Davies in the England U21 squad for the Euros. Would’ve put money on him being around 25

Him, Mason Holgate, Dominic Calvert-Lewin - all could be any age between 19 and 26

Feels like a weak squad without really thinking of who I’d add in.

ffs that’s a regulation shoulder

Tolerance of his taking out men in the air is weird though
