Out today on Netflix
Probably more value in it for non-wrestling fans or casuals by the sounds of it

A friend has told me to tell you all that it’s available on some hooky wrestling sites if, like me and my friend, you don’t have Netflix.
Him posting a statement against it surely means it should be fun for the whole family
At what point did he stop being commentator Vince McMahon and start the caricature? I’d be quite interested in the early days when he took over from his father, but I couldn’t stand the attitude era.
I really, really hope this is actually good and properly warts and all
Technically no mention was made of him being owner/booker/chairman until the Montreal Screwjob.
yeah i’ve seen Sean Fennessey from The Ringer promoting it a lot and I really hope that means it goes into how much of an evil cunt he is otherwise i feel like The Ringer have fucked it (Bill Simmons produced it)
Wasn’t the steroid trial before the screwjob?
I’d like to think so but Bill Simmons seems like the kind of guy who values contacts a lot to me
Think you were getting the odd mention from 1996 onwards, Austin definitely did it as a sort of shoot thing when he was still a heel feuding with Bret
Think it was Jim Ross who first acknowledged it on air, but as Aggpass says, was basically already an open secret because of the steroid trial.
Don’t think the full Mr McMahon character existed before the screwjob though.
Meant on-air. So if you were just a standard viewer you weren’t told until Montreal.
3hrs in, its shite (will still watch it all)
Theres so much needless story recaps than actual documentary. Its barely a documentary at all so far.
Are there any commercials for IcoPro?
Good performance by Dennis Quaid
I watched half an hour and there’s the usual revisionist shit and generally accepting the ‘WWE view’ of wrestling’s evolution and purpose. It seems like it will be critical, but nothing you can’t garner from years of having a Meltzer subscription and with fewer carnies trying to work you (directly).
Bret being Bret is fun as per. Hes barely in it though.
Was pretty interesting when it did come out, even if I didn’t like the change in their content.
Also interesting that Jack Tunney had been in charge of Maple Leaf in Canada, but when that got bought over he adopted the role of the fake guy in charge, even though Vince was really pulling the strings from behind the mic.
You got a few mentions of Vince defeating the US justice system on air after the trial ended, which must have seemed a bit odd if you didn’t know his real role. Couldn’t resist a bit of hotdogging and grandstanding though, obvs.
