First CD single: Wendy James - The Nameless One (1994, a two disc digipack affair, bought a year after release, second hand, in readiness for the swish JVC minisystem I was getting for Christmas - which had a CD player! My first! Genuine massive excitement!)

First single - Natalie Imbruglia, Torn
First album - Chocolate Starfish and the Hotdog Flavoured Water (my parents had bought Spice by the Spice Girls at the request of my brothers and I previously, but that was a joint effort)
First gig - Feeder in Newport

Solid choice.

Absolutely cracking song.

Album: maybe Dance Tip '95; amazing tracklist:

Gig: Power in the Park 1998? Maybe Backstreet Boys at Wembley, that was 1998 as well.

^this but it was xmas 1998 and on CD

first single i think was Closing Time by Semisonic

first gig i’m not sure, maybe the coral in southampton or test icicles in southampton

pretty sure there must have been something i went to before then though

the band i was in played at the joiners when i was 15, so that’s a ‘proper’ venue but doesn’t really count

FirstSelf bought Single: Cockney Rebel: Come Up and See Me
FirstSelf Bought Album Wings - Venus and Mars
First actual Gig: Siouxsie and the Banshees at Hammersmith Palais.

Single - Swamp Thing by The Grid (mid 90s)
Album - What’s The Story (97?)
Gig - Metallica at Newcastle Arena (97?)

The mid-late 90s are all one year to me. I was at high school for all of these but can’t give much more context.
